NAISDA (National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association) invites you to connect to Country, culture & each other with a free Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Youth Dance Workshop via Zoom
About this event:
NAISDA Dance College has been proudly dancing on Darkinjung Land for over a decade. During these days of lockdown, we wanted to find a way to reach out safely to our mobs and communities, and maintain connection to Country, culture and each other.
We invite you to join our Cultural Tutors and students for a free Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Dance Workshop by Zoom next Wednesday 8 September.
Head of Cultural Practice Jo Clancy, Cultural Dance Tutors Stuart McMinn and Berthalia Reuben and NAISDA students will lead a morning of gathering, dance and reflection, including:
11.35am – Acknowledgement of Countrys and introductions
11.40am – Warm-up with NAISDA students led by Justine Priest and Jaydn Bin-Garape
11.45am – Dharug cleansing dance and yarma ngarlie with Stuart McMinn
12.00pm – Torres Strait Islander Dance with Berthalia Reuben
12.10pm – Vibration, Contemporary Aboriginal Dance with Jo Clancy
12.25pm – Thank you, stay safe and keep connected
